Code of Conduct

Jack & Jill Events is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment at Swing Valley in Bad Hofgastein, Austria, held at the Kongresszentrum. To help ensure this, we ask all participants to follow this Code of Conduct throughout the event.

We reserve the right to respond to violations of this Code of Conduct at our own discretion. This may include, but is not limited to, excluding individuals from the event without refund and/or banning them from future events. We also reserve the right to refuse admission to the event for any reason.

Treat Others with Respect

We want everyone to feel comfortable at our event, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, appearance, physical ability, ethnic background, religion, nationality, or any other personal circumstance.

Social dancing should always feel safe. You have the right to:

  • decide for yourself whom you want to dance with

  • choose whether you lead, follow, or switch roles, provided your dance partner agrees

  • decide whether to dance the next dance with someone else, dance with the same person again, or take a break

If someone makes you feel uncomfortable, touches you inappropriately, or hurts you, it is perfectly acceptable to say “no” or “stop.” You always have the right to decline a dance invitation or stop a dance without giving a reason.

If someone says “no” or “stop” to you, respect that decision. Never pressure others. If your invitation to dance is declined, accept it and move on. If someone declines several invitations, stop asking.

Thanking your dance partner is always appreciated. However, unsolicited advice, lessons, criticism, or comments on appearance should be avoided unless you are specifically asked.

Treat our dance professionals, event team, volunteers, venue staff, and hotel staff with respect. Accept their support, instructions, and boundaries. Do not harass anyone or demand attention.

If you believe that a team member is behaving inappropriately or is not representing the event properly, please contact the management of Jack & Jill Events, Müller, Koch & Zentz Event GbR.

No Harassment of Any Kind

If you experience or witness harassment, please contact a member of the event team immediately so that we can intervene.

Other Behavior That Will Not Be Tolerated

The following behavior will not be tolerated:

  • discrimination, prejudice, or exclusion of any kind, including racism, ableism, ageism, queerphobia, or transphobia

  • intentional physical violence, threats, intimidation, or crossing clearly communicated boundaries

  • suggesting or initiating contact that goes beyond normal social dancing or workshops

Such behavior may result in immediate exclusion from the event without refund and/or a permanent ban from the event.

The following are not permitted:

  • sudden or forceful movements

  • lifts, drops, or weight-bearing figures without prior agreement

  • sudden dips or throws

You never know whether your partner has an injury. Please also pay attention to other dancers, especially on crowded dance floors, in order to avoid collisions.

If someone falls or injures themselves, offer help immediately. If someone needs medical assistance, please inform the event team, venue staff, or hotel staff immediately.

In case of emergency, please contact the local emergency services or the event team immediately.
